Caitanya Caritamrita Overview

In preparation for Lord Chaitanya's appearance day which is around the corner, the College of Vedic Studies Leicester presents the Caitanya Caritamrita Overview online course, which starts on Thursday 3rd of March at 7.30pm.

ISKCON comes in the tradition of Gaudiya Vaishnavism, the teachings of Lord Chaitanya, who is none other than Krishna who appears as His own devotee in the mood of Srimati Radharani. The most prominent biography of Lord Chaitanya is called Caitanya Caritamrita written by Srila Krishnadas Kaviraja Goswami. This book is so valuable that once Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur said if the floods of devastation were to inundate the entire planet and you could only take one book, you should take the Caitanya Caritamrita because it has everything within it.

Despite its importance, the Caitanya Caritamrita remains a relatively unexplored literature since the studies of Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam are vast in and of themselves. This new course presents an opportunity to  gain an overview of the life, mood and mission of Sri Chaitanya, and discover the teachings and gifts He left the world.
